Turgay had 2 rounds in the Main Table in Larnaca.
The tennis world has added a new name among the talented rackets of Northern Cyprus: Turgay Hidiroğlu.
Hidiroğlu, who started from the qualifiers in the J30 tournament held in Larnaca and tried to make his name in the main table, stood out with his determination and fighting spirit. In the first round, Hidiroğlu beat Spain’s Dario Ortega Ferrero in straight sets 6-4, 2-6 and 10-4 and started to make a name for himself in the tournament with this win.
In the second round, he had a fierce battle with Juan Diego Chacon Quesada of Costa Rica. He declared his victory with sets of 7-6 and then 6-4 in a breathtaking tie-break. However, the real test for Hidiroğlu was to face Israel’s Chen Kogan in the third round. After losing the first set 5-7 in a tie-break, Hidiroğlu could not resist his opponent’s superior play in the second set and lost 0-6.
Despite this defeat, Hidiroglu’s perseverance and performance is promising. Turgay Hidiroğlu’s fighting spirit and improving game will make him one of the promising faces of Northern Cyprus tennis. We look forward to seeing Hidiroğlu rise even higher in the upcoming tournaments and bring victories to Northern Cyprus in the international arena!”
